Pediatric Therapy is a specialized field in Physiotherapy. When the injury occurs to the developing brain, the impact becomes global as this interferes with all the domains of a child’s life including play, self care and academics. Huge advances in medical technology, has saved the lives of many fragile, pre-term infants. This has led to a decrease in mortality rates but an increase in the rate of morbidity. The number of cases with developmental disorders is on the rise.
Neurodevelopmental Therapy (NDT) is a popular approach widely followed by Physical Therapists all over the world for the treatment of children with Cerebral Palsy. The therapy understands the child’s unique world and is aimed at improving the quality of child’s life. The child who is unaware of movements feels a sense of refreshing freedom when he discovers various movement possibilities that he possesses.
